Birdwood is a charming small town and tourist centre in the heart of the famous Adelaide Hills, located about 44 km from Adelaide on the crossroads between the Adelaide-Mannum Road and the South Eastern Freeway. Birdwood has many historic buildings to explore and is the home to the National Motor Museum in the Old Mill building. The annual Bay to Birdwood vintage car rally runs through the Adelaide Hills and finishes at the museum where a popular festival is held. Just north of Birdwood is the Cromer Conservation Park which provides excellent bush walking, bird watching, walking, mountain biking and nature appreciation visits.
