What's on in Healesville, Victoria


Healesville is popular tourist town surrounded by natural area, vineyards amidst low lying mountains at the confluence of Grace Burn Creek and Watts Rivers. It is located in the Yarra Valley Region about 60 km east of Melbourne. It is famous for the popular Healesville Sanctuary which attracts thousands of visitors to the area each year. The Healesville Sanctuary, features a wonderful collection of more than 250 species of Australian wildlife of mammals, birds and reptiles. Healesville is a great place for local produce and farmers markets. The twnship is surrounded by wineries, fruit and berry farms. Just north of Healesville is the Maroondah Reservoir, which is a great place to enjoy the local natural environment - boasting BBQs and picnic areas, colourful gardens, and a fabulous array of scenic bushwalking tracks and lookouts. Healsville has many delightful clubs and pubs offering live entertainment gigs and fine dining. There are many great cafes and restaurants in Healesville and the surrounding district.
