Boyanup is a charming tourist, business district and agricultural service centre located in the Peel Region of Western Australia about 200 km south of Perth and just 18 km south-east of Bunbury which provide the entertainment and amusements centre for the town. Boyanup is ideally positioned on the shores of the fascinating Preston River. The Yoganup North Mine that processed mineral sands is located 5 km north-west of the town and adds to the local economy. Be sure to visit the fascinating Transport Museum. The recreational facilities at Boyanup and in the surrounding area provide for a wonderful range of activities and attractions including: sailing, boating, canoeing, kayaking and diving, and some of the best fishing location and range of types in the South West. The fabulous prawning and crabbing in the estuary attracts many locals and visitors to the area to feast on the haul. The seafood in the area is wonderful and there are many cafes and restaurants that offers local seafood and produce. The delightful Preston River meanders gently through Boyanup providing many interesting scenic locations, walking trails and picnic spots. The famous Boyanup and Districts Farmers Markets, that is held on the 4th Sunday of every month is a great way to meet the friendly local community and a great place to buy farm fresh produce directly from the grower and to taste the spirit of the local community. The magical Margaret River Wine Region is just a short drive away.
