Bridgetown is an attractive timber and tourist town on the banks of the Blackwood River, located about 96 km south of Bunbury and 270 km south of Perth. The Bridgetown region is the known as the jewel in the crown of the magical South West corner of Western Australia. It is ideally located at the thriving centre and heart of the of the South West and is a hub for all the attractions and activities of the region. Bridgetown provides the gateway to the plethora of Forests, Nature Reserves and National Parks, heritage walks and trails, wineries, and an array of outstanding heritage listed buildings. Bridgetown was given recognition as a listed `Heritage Town` in 2000. Bridgetown is the service centre for a very productive agricultural district and is a major town in the famous Blackwood Valley winery region. The area has a fascinating heritage.
