Crowdy Head is a delightful angling, surfing town and vacation village established about 8 km from Harrington on the North Coast of New South Wales. The famous lighthouse on the headland provides stunning views over the sea and the beautiful coastline. The fresh seafood co-operative outlet at Crowdy Head has wonderful fresh seafood in the rare event that your own fishing exploits are unsuccessful. The sandy shoreline at Crowdy Head is part of a huge length of sandy beaches extending all the way to Diamond Head Beach in the National Park area. There is very good canoeing and kayaking, swimming, angling, diving at Crowdy Head. The best surf is at the northern end of Crowdy Bay beach, which is patrolled by life savers during the summer months. There is very good conditions for body boarding and swimming at Crowdy South beach. The famous Crowdy Bay National Park is one of the most spectacular seaboard nationwide reserves in New South Wales. One of the major enticements is the beautiful golden sandy crescent of Dunbogan Beach extending from Diamond Head in the south to Camden Head in the north. The long expanse of Kylies Beach extends south to Crowdy Head east of Harrington. Along with the sandy coastlines and spectacular headlands there are extensive wetlands, rainforest remnants and seaboard heath habitats that have attractive wildflower displays.
