The small tourist town and rural service centre of Kyogle is located about 760 km north of Sydney and 30 km north of Casino, in the Northern Rivers Region of New South Wales. Kyogle is situated on the banks of the Richmond River close to Fairy Mountain and the region is know as the `Gateway to the Rainforests`. Kyogle is surrounded by huge areas of remnant sub-tropical rainforest and adjoins the McPherson Range, Border Ranges National Park (World Heritage listed), and the Tweed and Richmond Ranges. Kyogle is a rich cattle grazing area and has other boutique food growers. It is a popular tourist centre focused on the diverse and fauna rich rainforest areas boasting an outstanding range of animals, plants and birds. The town has excellent tourist facilities, scenic drives, picnic areas, intriguing antique and craft shops, scenic lookouts and the many charming villages in the local area offering many other attractions and activities.
