There are more than 40 wineries and vineyards in this wine region many of which have cellar doors for tasting the magnificent local wines. the region is the home of the famous and mysterious Hanging Rock, which was the subject of a film and famous book, and is now home of the Hanging Rock picnic races and many other events throughout the year.
