Manning Point, located on the Mid-North coast of New South Wales, is and ideal destination for a delightful beachside holiday, fishing trip or boating holiday or for a simple weekend getaway. Manning Point is ideally positioned on a sandy point at the mouth of the Manning River offering a wide range of fishing habitats. Manning Point is located about 180 km north of Newcastle. The regional centre of Taree is located about 30 km away and provides a wide range of entertainment venues, clubs and pubs. The fishing is renowned at Manning Point which hosts a popular annual fishing competition. There are a wide variety of fishing places to try your luck including - headland, river, surf, estuary, rock, beach and offshore reefs and sandy flats. Chater boats and hire boats are available if you do not have your own boat. There are also many wonderful spots for swimming, surfing and sea-kayaking at nearby beaches including: Old Bar, Diamond Beach, Harrington, Hallidays Point, Saltwater and Crowdy Head. Many of these beaches offer fabulous surf breaks, and some have calm conditions for family groups. Most beaches are excellent for beach walks or for just relaxing on the beach with families of friends. Inland from the beach there are manyghtful bushland areas for bushwalking and mountain bike riding including: Bulga Forest, Crowdy Bay National Park, Boorgana Nature Reserve and Middle Brother State Forest. Manning Point has a wide range of places to stay on the beachfront and excellent facilities for a wide range of recreational activities. Manning Valley River Cruises offers a variety of guided river cruises that explore the natural history of the area and its heritage.
