The major annual events in the district are the Mudgee Wine Show (September), the Mudgee Short Film Festival, Mudfest, and the Wings, Wheels and Wine event, staged at the Mudgee Airport, the Mudgee Wine Festival and the Mudgee Small Farm Field Days (July). Munghorn Gap Nature Reserve and other Nature Reserves in the area offer fabulous bushwalking. The Mudgee Farmers Market is staged on the third Saturday of each month.
