Oakbank is a small town in the Adelaide Hills Region, east of Adelaide in South Australia. It is in the Adelaide Hills Wine region that has a wonderful range of boutique wineries many of which have cellar door outlets for tasting, cafes and restaurants where you can enjoy the local fresh produce with a local wine. Oakbank is famous for the Oakbank Easter Racing Carnival that is organised by the Oakbank Racing Club, which was founded in 1875. Oakbank is a unique carnival attracting over 70,000 people every year for the major set of races on Easter Monday making it the biggest Picnic Race Meeting in the World. The carnival extends over the entire Easter week-end. The Oakbank Hotel is full to overflowing during the annual racing carnival. Other attractions are the Historic Kelsey cottage, circa
1914, which has been converted into a restaurant. The town also has a farm supplies store and pizza bar.
