Patonga is the last beach on the southern boundary the famous Central Coast of New South Wales and lies on the sheltered north seashore of Broken Bay. Patonga Beach lies within a lovely protected embayment near Lion Island and so there is only a small surf and the beach is ideal for swimming and families spending a day at the beach. Patonga Beach has beautiful picturesque views over Brisk Bay towards Lion Island, Barrenjoey, Broken Bay and West Head. The part of sandy beach that adjoing where Patonga Creek flows into the ocean provides a perfect opportunity for young children to play in the shallow water at low tide. Patonga has great facilities including a children`s playground, BBQ, picnic tables and an excellent boat ramp. Patonga is suitable for numerous recreational activities including:

A variety of ferries, water-taxis and cruise vessels call in to Patonga for journeys to Palm Beach, Bobbin Head, Ettalong. You can also join extended cruises on the Hawkesbury River. North of Patonga is another wonderful beach, Pearl Beach, and farther north is the long sandy seashore at Umina. There is a good assortment of beachfront places to stay at Patonga and the close by villages and the locality carries a broad variety of recreational and vacation activities.
