What's on in Robertson, NSW


Robertson is still a real country town with a friendly community, wide streets and lots to see and do in the surrounding district. It is located in the Southern Highlands Region of southern New South Wales about 100 km south of Sydney, 200 km north of Canberra and 60 km west of Wollongong and Nowra. Robertson features many lovely walks in town and in the unique rainforest of the Yarrawa Brush. Visitors ca also explore the famous Heritage Railway Station and the Fettlers Shed Gallery in the town centre. Located just 7 km from Robertson is fabulous `The Illawarra Fly`, which is walk through the canopy of the rainforest. The unique walk is 25 m high tree and 500 m long passing through the spectacular natural rainforest canopy. The walk climbs at a relatively gentle slope that is suitable for most visitors. The walk has fabulous views over the rainforest and the scenery of the Illawarra escarpment. You can also get magnificent views of the coast from Bass Point to Shellharbour, the nearby ocean and scenic Lake Illawarra. For the more adventurous 'The Fly' offers a 45 m high lookout which can be accessed via a spiral staircase. This lookout offers panoramic views of the entire area. Robertson is very popular with visitors who enjoy it for a weekend getaway, a holiday destination or a convenient stopover along the drive from the coast to the highlands, Goulburn and Canberra.
