The attractive vacation village and tourist destination of Shellharbour is established between Wollongong and Kiama in the Illawarra Region on the South Coast of New South Wales. Anglers can fish in the estuary and harbour or from the sandy beaches, rocks and boats offshore. Bass Point, which consists of an extended peninsula near the town is a marine reserve and one of the best scuba diving and snorkelling spots on the South Coast. Bass Point also has a number of important Aboriginal and European heritage sites and a comprehensive range of marine habitats.
