Stockton is a northern suburb of Newcastle that has a fascinating history, unique position and lots of character. Stockton Beach is renowned as the site where many shipwrecks and aircraft crashes have occurred and the remains of several shipwrecks are still visible on the beach. The hard surface of the beach and its many attractions make it popular with 4WD enthusiasts (permit required). The beach is very popular with tourists.
