Sussex Inlet is a small vacation town established about 40 km south east of Nowra, in the Shoalhaven Coast Region of Southern New South Wales. Sussex Inlet is located at the mouth of the beautiful tidal lagoon of St Georges Basin, south-west of Jervis Bay. The village has great amenities, with two licensed clubs, a delightful heritage cinema, shopping centre, amusements and entertainment, and a large Aquatic Centre with a pool, tennis courts, kids playgrounds and BBQs. The most well liked activities are: family beach activities, bushwalks, angling, wind surfing, scuba diving, snorkelling, boating, water skiing, boating, canoeing, kayaking, cruising, surfing and swimming. There is a permanent opulation about 4,000 inhabitants in Sussex Inlet and in the other villages of Berrara, Cudmirrah and
Swanhaven. There are a life saving patrols at the surf beach during the summer months. The Sussex Inlet locality is boating heaven - bring your own vessel or there are several boat charter operators in the area as well fishing boat hire ( tinnie with an outboard motor). Sussex Inlet is also renowned for its parklands, nature reserves and for its friendly welcoming vacation atmosphere that has provided a customary vacation at the beach for many families. There are five boat ramps, four located at Sussex Inlet South and one all-purpose ramp located to next to the public wharf. There is a very popular angling carnival in May each year. The area offers fishing in many habitats in locations including: lake, offshore boat fishing, beaches, headlands and rock fishing. It summer you can go prawning
in nearby Swan Lake.
