The delightful holiday township of Toukley provides the ideal setting for couples and families to enjoy the wide range of sandy beach and lagoon attractions and activities that include: angling, swimming, surfing, boating, scenic cruises, ocean kayaking, canoeing, windsurfing, bushwalking and camping. Tuggerah Lake and Budgewoi Lake form group of waterways on the Central Coast of NSW, north of Sydney and south of Newcastle. The two lakes are separated by a long slender peninsula of sand on which lies Toukley and Toukley Bridge. Toukley was once an isolated and secluded village but it has grown to become a residential suburb and a sophisticated vacation resort and weekend getaway. Tuggerah Lake offers wonderful fishing targeting: crabs, bream, snapper, flounder, tarwhine, mullet, jewfish, whiting,
flathead, tailor and luderick. There is excellent fishing from the shore, beach, boat or rocky headlands. Prawns can be caught using hand nets and drag nets on warm summer nights. Use a light to attract the prawns and fish in the shallow sandy flats around the foreshores of the lakes. Budgewoi Lake also offers fabulous fishing especially for bream. Toukley is home to the Toukley Golf Club and Toukley RSL Club. The beautiful 18-hole championship golf course is unique by being composed of two distinct layouts, side by side. The front nine of the course is flanked on both sides along the fairways by trees. The back nine is much more exposed to the wind and resembles a links-style course. It is a wonderful setting for golfers who like a challenge. There are more golf courses and excellent entertainment
in the area around Gosford.
