Trial Bay and the associated tourist town of South West Rocks are located about half way between Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour and on the Mid-North Coast of New South Wales. Trial Bay is very popular for camping and caravans and is a well-loved spot for couples and families, who come back each year to Trial Bay for their holidays. The angling and boating is truly magnificent, and you can stay in your tent, campervan or caravan right on the beach at the caravan park or at one of the stunning beachfront apartments and houses and luxury suites on the shoreline. The historic Trial Bay Gaol constructed in 1877 from locally quarried pink and grey granite has a fascinating heritage and it is well worth visiting. The protected waters of Trail Bay are an excellent location for kite-surfing, sail
boarding, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, boating and sailing. The views around Trial Bay and South West Rocks are magnificent especially on board a cruise vessel. The coastal National Parks along the seashore are worth visiting: for example Hat Head National Park has fantastic wilderness walking tracks and mountain bike paths, secluded sandy beached and an array of fascinating fauna and flora. Trial Bay is truly wonderful location for a holiday. There are pubs and clubs in South West Rocks, Nambucca Heads and lots of gigs and live entertainment in Coffs Harbour.
