The delightful holiday and day-trip town of Warburton is located in the Yarra Valley Region about 67 km east of Melbourne CBD in the Shire of Yarra Ranges, in Victoria. The area and district surrounding Warburton is a very popular tourist destination and visitor centre, with its scenic mountain views, lovely cafes and restaurants, delightful accomodation, local wineries and the wide range of things to see and do. The picturesque Yarra River meanders through the township and along the river banks are many beautiful picnic spots and walking tracks and cycling paths. The old Warburton to Lilydale railway branch line which closed in 1965, has become the Warburton Trail - a deliggtful pathway for walkers, joggers, bush walkers, cyclists and horse-riders. Just east of Warburton is the scenic Upper Yarra Dam, which is well worth a visit. Stroll along the Yarra River Walk with follows the river for almost 3 km and features many interesting sights such as the swing bridge in Story Reserve. The scenic La La Falls are situated off Old Warburton Road, south of the town. There is a wide range of entertainment venues in Warburton and the surrounding towns including clubs and clubs, many of which feature live entertainment. Local Sporting Clubs welcome visitors, Arts and Craft and the local Plays, Concerts and Live performances at the Arts Centre.
