Wentworth, considered as the southern gateway to Outback NSW, is established at the junction of the Murray and Darling Rivers in the far southwest corner of New South Wales. Wentworth is enclosed by both Victoria and South Australia and is very close to Mildura, located on the Victorian edge of the Murray. It is located in the Murray Region of New South Wales. Wentworth has numerous historic structures encompassing St Johns Anglican Church, Wentworth Courthouse, the Customs Officer`s house, the Old Wentworth Gaol and the Post Office, which are all worth visiting. Wentworth is close to the World famous and fascinating Mungo National Park which is heritage listed. Lying at the junction of two of Australia's best known rivers, the Murray and the Darling Wentworth has excellent facilities for water-based recreation including: Paddle-steamers, angling, boating of all types, kayaking, canoeing, water skiing and luxury houseboats. Fresh food outlets and local wineries and cellar doors are great place to visit.
